Position Title: Cashier / Store Operations Supervisor
Location: Mongrel
Reports To: Owner/Manager
Employment Type: Full Time

Position Summary:
The Cashier Supervisor oversees daily cashier operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient transactions, and adherence to company policies. This role involves supervising cashier staff, managing schedules, resolving customer concerns, and assisting in maintaining high standards

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Leadership:
    • Provide guidance and support to cashier staff, ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team performance and customer service skills.
    • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and motivation.
  2. Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily cashier operations, ensuring accurate cash handling and transaction efficiency.
    • Monitor registers to maintain proper cash balances and prevent discrepancies.
    • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and end-of-day reporting.
    • Monitor daily store-supplies and order accordingly
  3. Customer Service:
    • Resolve escalated customer issues in a professional and timely manner.
    • Ensure the team delivers a positive shopping experience for all customers.
    • Handle special transactions, returns, and exchanges as needed.
  4. Administrative Duties:
    • Prepare staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
    • Monitor cashier performance and provide feedback or disciplinary action when necessary.
    • Collaborate with management on goals, promotions, and process improvements.
  5. Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with all company policies, including cash handling, loss prevention, and safety protocols.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to store standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a retail or customer service role, with at least one year in a supervisory position.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
